That is why we offer Rapid Delivery at The Skip Shop, including next day skip delivery for orders placed before midday. Here is everything you need to know about how it works.

What Is Rapid Delivery?

Rapid Delivery is our term for any skip delivery requested in under 3 working days. It covers a range of short-notice booking options, with next day delivery being the fastest available.

Our standard lead time is 3 working days (72 working hours). Anything inside that window falls into the Rapid Delivery category. Next day delivery is Rapid Delivery at its quickest.

Next Day Delivery: The Key Rule

To qualify for next day delivery, your order must be placed before midday (12:00 noon) on a working day. Orders placed after midday, or on a weekend, will not qualify for next day delivery.

We only deliver and collect on weekdays. No weekend deliveries or collections are available.

If you need a permit because you're skip will be placed on public land, such as the road, this will need longer to process with your local council and therefore next day is not possible in this case.

Is Next Day Skip Delivery Guaranteed?

We always aim to fulfil next day and Rapid Delivery requests. But we want to be upfront: availability is not guaranteed.

We work with a network of local skip suppliers across the UK. Availability depends on those suppliers. It can vary by area and by how busy things are. During peak periods, next day slots fill up quickly.

If we cannot fulfil your requested delivery date after you book, we will contact you as soon as possible to discuss your options. That might mean a slightly later date that still works for your project. We make it easy to resolve.

Why We Recommend Booking 3 Working Days Ahead

We have a 99% availability rate for skip delivery from 3 working days onwards. That is a significant difference compared to next day and same-day options.

If your project timeline allows it, booking with 3 working days' notice is the safest choice. You get the full benefit of our supplier network and the widest choice of delivery slots.

That said, we know plans change. Rapid Delivery exists precisely for those moments when you need to move quickly.

What About Permits?

If you need to place your skip on a public road, you will need a skip permit from your local council. Permits have their own lead times, typically around 5 working days.

Next day delivery does not apply to orders that require a permit. The permit process must be completed before delivery, so these orders cannot be fulfilled as Rapid Delivery.

Which Skip Sizes Are Available for Next-Day Delivery?

All of our skip sizes can potentially be available for Rapid Delivery, subject to local supplier stock. Our range includes:

Note: skips of 10 yards and above are not suitable for heavy materials such as soil, concrete, or bricks. For heavy waste, choose an 8 yard skip or smaller.

Can I get a skip delivered the same day?

We do not currently offer same-day delivery. Next-day delivery, for orders placed before midday, is our fastest option. Same-day requests would require your order to be placed and fulfilled within hours, which is not something we can reliably support through our supplier network.

What happens if my next day delivery cannot be fulfilled?

If your Rapid Delivery request cannot be met after booking, we will get in touch as soon as possible. We will walk you through the available options, which typically means choosing the next available delivery date. Our aim is to make any change as simple as possible for you. If alternative options do not meet your needs, we will happily return any amounts paid.

Does Rapid Delivery cost more?
